  • books - a large collection of publications covering the history of Stamford and the surrounding area
  • directories - titles such as Kellys, Whites, Dolbys, Jenkinsons and Potters covering a variety of years between 1872 and 1984
  • newspapers on microfilm:
    • The Stamford Mercury 1714 to 2020 (incomplete)
    • Rutland and Stamford Guardian 1875 to 1916 (incomplete)
    • Stamford and District News 1912 to 1942 (incomplete)
    • Bourne Local 1989 to 2019

  • newspaper cuttings: on numerous subjects such as local people, shops, firms, industries and transport, covering the period from 1970s to the present day
  • census – 1841 to 1901 (incomplete) on film or fiche covering Stamford and the surrounding area.
  • parish records - c1500s to 1900s (incomplete) on microfilm.
  • maps - a selection of OS maps for Stamford and surrounding villages dating from the 1900s
  • illustrations - a selection of photographs of Stamford and the surrounding area dating from 1870s onwards
  • The collection also includes information files on people and subjects relating to Stamford and the surrounding villages and information, compiled by Dr Eric Till, on 18th and 19th century buildings and subjects of note, searchable by staff enquiry
