What is this?
Trading Standards monitor movement records and animal passports to reduce the risk of animal disease being spread.
The Animal Health Act also covers the controls aimed at preventing rabies from entering Britain, including the PETS passport scheme.
We also have a contingency plan in place which would take effect in the case of a rabies or other serious disease outbreak, such as foot and mouth.
