Council Services:

Doorstep Selling

The Business Information Pack explains the legislation that applies to doorstep sales, including consumers’ cancellation rights.

Does your company sell directly to consumers in their homes through unsolicited visits?  Within Lincolnshire and throughout the East Midlands, there has been an increase in the number of serious cases of doorstep crime.

Doorstep crime is any sort of crime committed by unsolicited doorstep callers, including rogue workmen, high pressure salesmen and bogus officials.  As a reputable “doorstep” seller, your business needs to ensure it understands its obligations and responsibilities under the law in order to avoid being associated with these rogue traders.

Please feel free to download or print off your own copy of the pack. Alternatively, contact us for a free copy (see Contact Details).

Note: This pack was designed to be printed double-sided. Some blank pages have been removed from this online version in order to minimise wasted paper. The page numbering is therefore not always consecutive.
