Health and Well-being Fund
The fund has supported many projects that include: You and Mii makes Wii, LIVES Expansion, Boston Placecheck, Exercise Referral and Community Walks.
An invitation to express an interest in developing initiatives to meet priority areas within the Fund closed at the end of December 2008. There were over 200 expressions of interest, ranging from £50,000 to over £1,000,000 submitted by public, private and third sector organisations.
In recognition of the changing economic climate and the need to support volunteers and volunteering in the county the Board has funded seven projects (table below) to be delivered over one to three years by Lincolnshire’s voluntary sector infrastructure organisations.
| Project | Delivery Organisation | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Voluntary Sector Management Training | Lincs Community & Voluntary Services (Lincs CVS) | To up-skill trustees, via accredited and non-accredited training, alongside enhanced quality training for volunteer managers |
| Compact Secretariat, Promotion & Events | Community Lincs | To provide Compact Secretariat function, promote the Compact and develop & deliver Compact eve |
| Employer Supported Volunteering | Lincs CVS & Urban Challenge | To engage with medium and large Lincolnshire-based employers/organisations in the delivery of - Employer Supported Social Action; Group Volunteering & Team Challenges and Pro-bono/micro volunteering |
| Standardised Data Capture | Community Lincs | To review different data collection, storage and usage policies and procedures and develop a standardised approach to data collation. To provide a publicly accessible and searchable web based database of voluntary and community groups, enabling more people to get involved with either as service users or as volunteers |
| Asset based Community Data Capture | Birchwood Access Centre | To use an asset based mapping approach to collect data on ‘below the radar’ groups in pilot areas identified through the JSNA |
| Volunteer Card | Childrens Links | To provide a card for volunteers that will capture the skills/training/availability/volunteer roles/types / locations. The card would be a sign of validation, allowing accredited volunteers to feel valued and voluntary organisations and agencies (that sign up to the concept) to ensure their staff have a required level of generic training |
| Quality Standards | Childrens Links | To identify and bring together appropriate quality standards and frameworks for Lincolnshire’s Voluntary Sector Infrastructure organisations; to recognise existing award holders and timetables for re-accreditation; to enable relevant assessments and develop continuing improvement plans |
