The council welcomes petitions and recognises that this is one way in which people can let us know their concerns.
We will respond to all petitions, setting out what we plan to do with the petition.
Petition organisers can choose to send their petition direct to the relevant service area. Alternatively they have an opportunity to present their petition to a council meeting and speak for up to five minutes on the petition.
If your petition contains 1,750 or more signatures you can ask for a report on the subject of the petition to be presented to a public meeting of the relevant scrutiny committee.
This website provides an e-petition system, which allows petitions to be submitted to the council electronically.
