What is Information Governance?
The Information Governance Team is part of the wider Information Management and Technology department.
The Information Governance framework sets out the way our organisation handles information, in particular, the personal and sensitive data relating to our customers and employees.
The framework determines how we collect and store data, and specifies how the data is used and when it can be shared.
Information Governance provides guidance to the Council and individuals to promote personal information is processed legally, securely, efficiently and effectively.
The Information Governance framework includes:
- Information Governance Management
- Data Protection Act 1998
- Freedom of Information Act 2000 (including the Council’s Publication Scheme)
- Records Management
- Information Security
- IT Security
- LCC Code of Conduct
