Data Protection
The Data Protection Act aims to protect personal information about a living, identifiable person and applies to data in paper and electronic format.
Lincolnshire County Council has a statutory duty to comply with the requirements of the Act as it collects data about customers when conducting its business. The council is also required to produce a privacy notice explaining how information is collected and processed. A copy of the council’s privacy notice is available in the downloads section of this page.
Information about your rights under Data Protection can be found on the Information Commissioner’s website.
The Act also provides individuals with the right of access to personal records held by an organisation. You can apply to see what information the council holds about you by making a subject access request.
