Lincolnshire County Council produces high volumes of data and records which are retained by the Council for the purposes of providing services to our customers.
The Corporate Information Security Policy, supporting policies, and guidance outline a framework for how employees must manage information and equipment securely. It also guides on what employees need to do to transfer an email securely.
Council employees must read the policies and guidance to be aware of security requirements for storing and exchanging information and using equipment.
Emails which require sending to an external email address (outside LCC) containing data / information which identifies an individual and their circumstances must be sent by secure email.
There are two options available LCC Secure email or GCSX. Details of both options and how to use are available on the downloads section of the information Governance page.
Equipment
Employees must ensure equipment such as laptops, LCC approved memory devices and mobiles / PDA’s (personal digital assistant – i.e. Blackberries) are used and stored securely in accordance to policies and guidance.
If you require further information please email information_governance@lincolnshire.gov.uk and a member of the team will respond to your query.
