Resurfacing works for Kirmond le Mire

The diversion route for the Kirmond le Mire resurfacing works

Major road improvements are on the way for the village in the Wolds.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for Highways at LCC said: “These improvement works to B1203 Kirmond le Mire will be a real benefit to the area and its residents.

“Once complete, the road will not only be nicer to drive on but also far more durable than the current road surface.”

Location of works

B1203 Kirmond Road through Kirmond le Mire.

Dates and times

The work will start on Tuesday 30 April with a scheduled end date of Tuesday May 14, subject to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. Working times on-site will be from 07.30 to 17.00.

Traffic management

Full 24-hour road closure will be in place for the duration of the works with a diversion used on like-for-like roads.

Diversion route

The route will be via Kirmond le Mire / B1203 / B1225 / A46 / A18 / B1203 / Kirmond le Mire and vice versa.

Karen Cassar added: “Due to the nature and location of the improvements there will be some disruption, but we’ll be doing everything we can to keep this to a minimum.

“That being said, as we can only route diversions along similar or greater classed roads, the signed diversion route for this project is unavoidably long - at around 24 miles.

“With this in mind, I’d like to thank everyone affected for their patience and encourage anyone travelling in and around the area to leave extra time for their journeys once these improvement works start.”
