If you are thinking of adopting a child from another country, before you apply to Lincolnshire, we require you to have made enquiries with a child's country of origin to find out what requirements that country has. Some countries, for example, do not allow their children to be placed for adoption overseas.
Essential information can be found on The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCFS) website. We recommend that you visit this site before contacting us.
In common with all local authority adoption agencies, Lincolnshire charges a fee for these assessments: currently £4,500.
You will be required to undertake exactly the same training and assessment as for other adopters who wish to adopt children in this country.
