How you lodge an appeal depends on what type of school you are appealing and also what year group.
- Midyear - when you need to appeal for a place in a school now.
- Block Appeal - when you need to appeal for the Reception, Junior or Year 7 main September intake.
The table below shows who you need to contact to obtain appeal papers. If you are unsure what type of school you would like to appeal for, please refer to the ‘A-Z List of Schools’.
Block Appeal

If you have applied online you may also be able to appeal online.
Midyear Appeal

You cannot appeal online for a mid year place.

Appealing Online
This system is only available for Block appeals. Once you have collected your initial offer you will have the option to appeal to a school which has been unable to offer your child a place. Please note appealing online is only available for selected schools.
Infant class size appeals only
Infant Class Size Regulations restrict the grounds upon which an Appeal Panel can uphold these appeals.
