Council Services:

Adults Eligibility Criteria

Adult Social Care will assess your need for services if you are an adult with a physical disability, or a long-term illness; a sight or hearing loss; a learning disability or if you have a mental health issue. They will also assess you if you are a frail older person or a carer.

Adult Social Care refers to guidance issued by the Government on applying Eligibility Criteria when assessing your care needs. The Eligibility Criteria (previously known as Fair Access to Care Services or FACS) comprise four bands: ’low’, ’moderate’, ’substantial’ and ’critical’. In Lincolnshire, if your needs are judged to be ’substantial’ or ’critical’, Adult Social Care will be able to help directly.

Those with ‘moderate’ or ’low’ needs will be given advice and support to ensure needs can be met from alternative sources of support.  This might include preventative services or support available through voluntary, charitable and independent sectors. Whatever your level of need, Adult Social Care will always offer information, advice and guidance and then direct you to people who can help you if they can’t.

More Information about how we apply eligibility criteria can be found here.
