The Lincolnshire Registration Service offers a range of Civil Ceremonies, which commemorate the three main stages in life; birth, marriage/civil partnership and death.
Naming Ceremony
This event is perfect for:
- celebrating the arrival of your child into your family;
- expressing your commitment to support your child through life.
Renewal of Vows Ceremony
This ceremony allows couples to re-dedicate themselves to each other at a significant stage of their marriage/civil partnership.
Civil Funeral or Memorial Ceremonies
This is a celebration of a person's life. Family and friends come together to pay tribute in a way which is appropriate to that individual. We offer these ceremonies as opportunities for:
- celebration
- strengthening family ties
- renewing friendships.
Civil Funerals or memorial ceremonies can be held almost anywhere, with the exception of religious buildings and churches. A funeral ceremony is appropriate for cremations or burials at any non-religious burial ground.
Pre-planned Civil Funeral - Script only Service
- Many of us like to leave everything organised when we die and so we make a Will and sometimes pre pay a Funeral Director to undertake our funeral service. However, how many of us ever consider the content of that service?
- Our new "Script only" service gives you the opportunity to meet with one of our highly trained celebrants, who will help you prepare a ceremony, complete with readings, music choices and a personalised eulogy, which will capture your life and character.
- When you are satisfied with the content, you will be given a copy of the full ceremony to keep for yourself and we will also keep a copy on file. We strongly suggest that you advise your next of kin, solicitor or executor that you have the ceremony and would like it to be used at your funeral ceremony.
- When the time comes, we can conduct the ceremony for you or you can choose an alternative celebrant, if you wish.
- A fee is payable for the preparation of your ceremony and a further fee would also be payable by your family/executor if they were to choose one of our celebrants to present the funeral.
Further details are available in our leaflet or you can telephone our customer service centre on 01522 782244.
Civil Naming Ceremonies or Renewal of Vows Ceremonies can take place at:
- any Registration Office within the county;
- hotels;
- public house/restaurants;
- village halls;
- venues with current fire and safety regulations together with public liability insurance.
