Lincoln Register Office
The Register Office is situated at the foot of Lindum Hill, below the historic cathedral.
It is a magnificent listed building built in the 19th century as a home for the Bainbridge family.
The waiting room is decorated with a medieval tapestry saved from a demolished house.
The ceremony room is tastefully decorated in shades of burgundy and gold with oak panelling. It seats up to 40 guests.
A copy of the Carmichael painting of the city hangs in the ceremony room. It’s accompanied by other pictures of the city and complimentary silk flower arrangements.
French windows lead to an attractive and colourful lawned and terraced garden.
Vehicular access to the office is via Clasketgate, which is a one way street from the Broadgate/Lindum Road junction. Take the first right turn into Flaxengate. Pay and Display parking is to your left in the Grantham Street car park or follow the road uphill to the car park in front of The Collection ( museum). The whole area is no parking on the roadside. The office entrance on Danesgate is to your right, as you turn into Flaxengate. If using SatNav, you need to enter the postcode for The Collection, not the office – LN2 1LP.
All Lincolnshire Registration Offices operate an appointment system. Telephone 01522 782244 to make an appointment.
