Council Services:

The Councillor Big Society Fund

What is it?

‘The Councillor Big Society Fund’ allows all 77 County Councillor within Lincolnshire to make awards of funding to a range of local groups/organisations. Each Councillor will have a set amount that he/she can award from the scheme each financial year.

It enhances the ability of Councillors, as democratically elected representatives, to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of their local communities.

Funding is awarded by individual County Councillors at their discretion and should be to groups/organisations that will use the award to make a positive change in the local area and/or benefit the wider community.

How does the fund work?

For the financial year of 2011 to 2012 all 77 County Councillors have up to £2,000 to award to local groups and good causes. This fund is intended to run for two years until 2013.

The decision to make an award of funding is made by individual Councillors. Local groups interested in this fund should make contact with their local County Councillor to discuss further.

To find your local County Councillor please click on the link at the bottom of this page.

Alternatively groups can make suggestions of awards to be made and these will be passed on to the most appropriate Councillor(s). To make a suggestion you can contact the council’s Customer Service Centre on Telephone: 01522 782060.

We aim to respond to any suggestions received within 3 weeks although this may vary when we are experiencing a higher demand.
