Energy Saving Monitors
Save money and energy with new monitor loan
Have you ever wondered how much it costs you to turn on a light or leave your TV on standby? You find out by loaning an energy-saving monitor from your district library!
The scheme is being made possible by Lincolnshire County Council, and Stuart Turner in its Sustainability and Climate Change team said:
“Particularly in these testing economic times, this monitor could be really helpful in saving money around the home. Some appliances may use more electricity than we think and, by physically seeing how much energy we’re using as it happens, this great tool can help encourage us to change our habits.”
With an energy-saving monitor you can see in real time how much energy your house is using. By going around the house and switching items on and off you can see how much electricity each device uses.
The main district Libraries will be releasing the Energy Saving Monitors for a four-week period. For further details, visit your nearest district library located in Boston, Gainsborough, Grantham, Lincoln, Louth, Mablethorpe, Skegness, Sleaford, Spalding and Stamford.
