Council Services:

Arts Development

The Arts Development Service at Lincolnshire County Council, in partnership with district council Arts services, seeks to develop a proactive Arts ecology in Lincolnshire that responds effectively to the unique needs and aspirations of Lincolnshire communities.

Lincolnshire County Council currently manages the Lincolnshire One 'Thrive' programme - one of twenty-one nationally funded projects focusing on organisational development and how, through greater collaboration, we can deliver stronger more sustainable Arts services for our communities.

A key stream of the Lincolnshire One project is 'This is Art - Lincolnshire's Arts Strategy'  that sets out the visions and challenges for the Arts sector in Lincolnshire over the next 3 - 5 years. The strategy sets out the necessary actions that, collectively, we need to take to ensure the Arts have a stronger sustainable future in Lincolnshire around the following central vision:

'To develop a truly inspirational, locally powered and connected Arts culture of regional, national and international standing that reflects the unique diversity of environment and community across Lincolnshire as an outstanding model of good practice for the Arts in rural and coastal areas'

We have a vast and varied Arts community in Lincolnshire, where everybody is important. A county-wide Arts strategy should reflect the visions and aspirations for the future of the Arts in Lincolnshire by the people who create and develop the Arts. It is important to celebrate our achievements and look at the challenges ahead and work collaboratively to raise both the quality and profile of the Arts in Lincolnshire, creating even more opportunities for Lincolnshire people to experience and enjoy truly great art.
