Council Services:

Grantham Southern Relief Road

LCC is working with South Kesteven District Council on their proposals for a major 4000 house development plan at Southern Quadrant.

Integral to this development will effectively be a relief road for Grantham, joining the A52 at Somerby Hill to the A1, thus relieving the through traffic (particularly HGVs) from the town. This relief road will have to cross the Witham Valley and over the East Coast railway line and the River Witham by means of a viaduct/bridge to be constructed as part of the development.

In order that the solution is cost effective, the viaduct bridge is now down to a preferred option and a standby.

Lincolnshire County Council presented bridge options to members of the public at an information day on Thursday 21st February at Grantham Central Library, information from the event is available to view from the download page.

People had the opportunity to see the bridge designs and talk to a member of the team about the project. Following this event, further information about the Grantham Southern Relief Road and the bridge options will be available from this page.
