Lincolnshire Waste Partnership - consisting of Lincolnshire County Council, the seven district councils and the Environment Agency - is dedicated to delivering a better approach to deal with Lincolnshire's waste:
- Boosting recycling and composting to 55%
- Generating green electricity from waste
- Reducing reliance on landfill
- Fighting climate change
If we continue to get rid of the rubbish we can't recycle or reuse by dumping it, we face fines of up to £15 million each year from the government and EU.
We are all responsible for the amount of waste produced and we can all play an active part to try and reduce, reuse, or recycle it. There is still a certain amount that will be left over.
Following detailed research into different available technologies and an extensive public consultation, the Lincolnshire Waste Partnership discovered that Energy from Waste technology is the way forward, providing a sustainable, safe and affordable waste treatment solution. We get something back from it too, in the form of green electricity.
We'd welcome any comments, questions or ideas you have about how we're going to manage waste in Lincolnshire. Please see our contact details on the right.
