School and College Transport Homepage

Welcome to the School Services Transport Webpage.

We are the team who assess the eligibility of students for Home to School/College Transport. This means looking at each application to see if it meets the Home to School Transport Policy requirements. We are based at County Offices.

We are responsible for applications for:

• Home to School Transport (schools, academies and 6th form)
• Home to School Transport (on the grounds of income)
• Home to College Transport
• Special Educational Needs Transport

Transport Services Group are a separate team based at City Hall and are the team who are responsible for transport arrangements including mainstream schools/academies, Special Educational Needs transport, sixth form and college transport.

When should I apply?

You can apply for transport at any time. You should apply for transport before the end of the school year for the upcoming September. Please be aware that if School Services do not receive your application by 31st July we cannot guarantee that transport will be in place for the start of the new academic year.

During the months of August and September, the office is exceptionally busy. Applications could take longer than normal to process. To ensure travel arrangements are in place for the start of term we strongly recommend that you return your application before 31st July.
