Lincolnshire County Council is fully committed to providing the best possible standard of service. However, we realise that sometimes things can go wrong and you may need to use our complaints process. Our aim is to resolve your complaint as quickly as possible and use the information gathered to make improvements to the services we provide.
What is a complaint?
There are two types of complaints:
General complaints which:
- Cover all services provided by us except for social care
- Can be made by any member of the public
Statutory complaints that relate to Adult Social Care and Children's Services:
- Are treated separately by law
- Can relate to children in care or customers of Adult Social Care
- Can be made by the children or adults themselves
- Can be made of behalf of the adult or child by their carer, relative or employee
- Have a different procedure to follow depending on whether they are related to children or adults.
How to make a Complaint
- Visit your local Community Access Point
- Call the Customer Service Centre on 01522 782060 if your complaint is of a general nature
- Call the Statutory Complaints Manager on 01522 554098 if your complaint is regarding a social care matter
- Complete the registration form at the back of the 'How to Complain' leaflet
- Put the details in writing making sure you include your name and full postal address and send to Lincolnshire County Council, Corporate Feedback, PO BOX 841, Lincoln, LN1 2ZE.
- Complete the on line feedback form at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/feedbackform
- Fax the details of your complaint to 01522 516137
There are separate procedures for schools. Details are available from individual schools.
Confidentiality
We appreciate there maybe reasons why you may wish to remain anonymous when complaining to Lincolnshire County Council. However please be assured that we treat all complaints in the strictest confidence and that we understand that it is your right to complain. If you do not provide us with your details we will pass the complaint onto the service area manager responsible but will not be able to provide you with a response.
Lincolnshire County Council safe guards all personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Your information will only be shared with those parties involved in resolving your complaint.
