The Lincolnshire School Admission Policy Consultation comes under the Government's Code on School Admissions (see 'Weblinks').
The County Council is the Admission Authority for Community and Voluntary Controlled schools. In Academies and Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools, the Governors are the Admission Authority.
During January and February Lincolnshire Admission Authorities consult on any proposed amendments to admission arrangements (i.e. admission policies and published admission numbers) to apply to the children joining the school for the first time in September of the following year. The consultation version of these arrangements will be published on this website in January and February for you to view. Under the code all relevant parents and other groups with an interest in the local area have a right to take part in this consultation process.
After the close of the consultation on 1 March, Admission Authorities must take account of any responses received to their proposed policies and determine their final admission arrangements.
These final admission arrangements must be determined by 15 April and published within 14 days. Each policy will be published on this website as soon as possible after it has been received by School Admissions. Policies that have not been amended and therefore not included in the consultation will also be published.
It is possible for parents to object to the Schools Adjudicator about the final version of a policy determined by the Governors of a Foundation or Voluntary Aided School, provided this is done within six weeks of the policy appearing on this website. Any objection to an Academy's admission arrangements must be considered by the Secretary of State.
