The scheme, backed by Lincolnshire County Council, Lincolnshire Enterprise and the three District Authorities (Lincoln City, West Lindsey and North Kesteven), provides the opportunity to improve Lincoln's infrastructure and encourage growth.
It also aims to meet key County Council objectives including minimising traffic congestion, supporting Lincoln's growth as a principal urban centre, and enhancing the inter-city environment.
The bypass will serve as a step towards the completion of an eventual ring road around Lincoln, connecting the existing western and northern relief roads to the anticipated southern bypass.
Maps showing the route of the proposed Eastern Bypass are available from the Downloads section.
