Listen to siteIn 2001 the Healthy Living Team of the former Lincolnshire Health Authority merged with the Community Development Team at Economic Regeneration. The key reasons for the merging of these two teams lie in the similarity of their objectives.
The main elements of health are seen to be the living and working conditions of people in Lincolnshire, the socio economic and cultural environments the County's people are exposed to, general lifestyle, established social and community networks all linking into issues relating to age, sex and heredity. Expanding economic development to incorporate both health and community elements facilitates a better understanding of the complex problems facing local communities and develops wider resources necessary to deliver initiatives.
This united team aims to develop projects and initiatives that assist local and rural development, build capacity, confidence and the well being of individuals and community groups whilst also increasing their capacity to access funding.
'The Healthy Communities Team is dedicated to working in partnership with individuals, communities, agencies and government to improve the health and well being of everyone in Lincolnshire'.
