Opening hours
Lincoln Castle is open throughout the year closing only for Christmas and New Year celebrations, so whether you visit the city during the Summer or Winter, rain or shine, you will always find a warm welcome at the home of Lincoln's Cultural Heritage.
10.00am-4.00pm daily from October to March
10.00am-5.00pm daily during April and September
10.00am-6.00pm from May to August
Open at 10.45am on the first Wednesday of every month due to staff training.
Last admission is 45 minutes before closing.

- People who are in receipt of income support
- People who are in full time education

By road

By rail
The nearest rail station is Lincoln Central which operates services to locations throughout the country. The castle is approximately a 15 minute walk from the station. Alternatively you can take the Ride bus
By air
The nearest airport to Lincoln is Humberside airport.
Parking
The nearest parking facilities can be found at The Lawn Visitor Centre, Union Road, Lincoln and Westgate Carpark, Westgate, Lincoln. For further information on parking in Lincoln including charges please click here
Access
Lincoln Castle is partially accessible. There is a ramp to the Magna Carta and the Charter of the Forest exhibition. The Prison Experience has a lift to the ground floor only. There is a toilet suitable for disabled visitors and the shop has an induction loop.
Gift Shop
The castle gift shop offers something for everyone! The shop stocks a range of items from contemporary jewellery to copies of the Lincoln Magna Carta.
Cafe
Unwind in our newly refurbished cafe and treat yourself to one of our many delightful menu options. The cafe is situated in the Victorian prison building and was previously a magistrate’s court!
