See our unique Stamford Tapestry, fascinating local history collections and chat to our enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff - there is something for everyone!
Stamford Museum is wheelchair accessible: with semi-automatic front doors and lift to Upper Gallery; wheelchair available on request; hearing loop at front desk; some information in Braille; guide dogs welcome
We sell information sheets on subjects such as Daniel Lambert, the Stamford Spitfire, Sir Malcolm Sargent and the filming of Middlemarch
We have 1 hour on street parking outside, or visitors may choose to use a short or long stay car park.
We welcome non-flash photography, on completion of a form.
Photography for commercial purposes must be discussed with the Site Co-ordinator in advance.
We are close to a large selection of cafés and restaurants.
We welcome the use of its collection for research, by appointment. It includes a large number of photographs and information files on local people, places and events. Museum staff can provide information on material that is available for specific enquiries.
Our shop sells a wide range of local and in-house publications, including the Stamford Tapestry booklet and Winter Illustrated Talks. It also stocks a range of postcards and gifts for all ages.
We regret that there are no public facilities on site.
We publish a series of town trails that are available for sale in the shop and also at the Tourist Information Centre. Town Trail No. 1 is a general walk featuring the highlights of the town. Others include a Georgian, Victorian and Churches trail.
