Guided Tours

Explore 900 years of history

Join one of our tour guides to discover more about the history of Lincoln Castle. Our guides will take you through the ages from the origins of the castle in 1068 to the Victorian times when the castle was used as a prison.

Guided tours

Lincoln Castle guided tours are offered every day from April to September and take place at 11am and 2pm.

Guided tours in October take place everyday at 11am and 1.30pm.

Guided tours at 12pm are offered on weekdays in November, February and March. Weekend guided tours for these three months continue at 11am and 1.30pm.

During December and January tours are only offered at weekends and are at 11am and 1.30pm.

Guided tours last approximately 1hr and 15 minutes. There is no charge for the guided tours as all of the guides are volunteers from the Friends of Lincoln Castle.

Booking group tours

You can also book group tours with prices as follow:

  • Guides £1.50 per person.
  • Guides per school group £8.50.
  • Multiple Group Tours - 20% discount for booking of 5 or more per financial year.  Must pay £20 non refundable deposit per booking (i.e. 5 bookings = £100 deposit).
  • Groups - 15 or more people paying in one lump sum receive 10% discount on the adult/concessionary charge as appropriate.
