Council Services:

Volunteering

There are as many reasons that people choose to volunteer as there are opportunities to volunteer. Some people find volunteering personally rewarding, whilst others utilise volunteering to enhance their CV and experience. Some people choose to volunteer to feel more involved in their community, and others volunteer in areas related to their personal interests.

Whatever your reasons, volunteering can bring valuable opportunities to members of your community that may not exist without your help.

Volunteering can and should be a rewarding experience for both the service user and the volunteer.

Many of the organisations who offer volunteering opportunities are also able to help you to find relevant training and help with any administrative tasks, including Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks.

Volunteering through Lincolnshire County Council’s website

Lincolnshire County Council’s Volunteering webpages contain a lot of information about how you can become a volunteer and opportunities to volunteer. It also hosts the Lincolnshire County Council Volunteer Policy and welcome book.

Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (CVS)

The Community and Voluntary Service (CVS) offers a lot of information, help and training opportunities for people interested in volunteering, as well as a directory of volunteering opportunities.
