Funeral advice and support

When someone passes away, particularly when their death is unexpected, it can be very emotionally challenging.

Some of the restrictions that have been put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, have led to significant changes to what we understand as the normal funeral process.

Ritual and tradition are very important for the wellbeing of those survived by the loved one, and wherever possible we will try to maintain normality and respect their wishes.

These decisions were not taken lightly and were made in order to protect everyone involved in the funeral process, whilst laying the deceased to rest respectfully.

We ask at this time, that families work together with funeral service providers in order to do this.

Sadly, we have to prepare for additional numbers of deaths in the county, which has led to changes in funeral arrangements.

Changes in working practices due to the COVID-19 has also led to changes in death registrations which you should be aware of.

We understand that losing a loved one can feel overwhelming, especially if the death was untimely and unexpected.

There are a number of organisations who can support you and your family during this time, including Cruse Bereavement Care (0808 808 1677) and The Compassionate Friends (0345 123 2304).

Please accept our deepest sympathies for the loss of your loved one, and please be assured that we will do everything we can to ensure a dignified and respectful funeral.
