You must attend a citizenship ceremony if:
- you have successfully applied to become a British citizen
- and, you are aged 18 or over

You must book the ceremony within six months of your invitation from the Home Office.
You must bring:
- your invitation letter or email from the Home Office
- your passport or photo ID
Ceremonies last 30 minutes and take place in one of our offices in Lincolnshire.
During the ceremony you will swear or affirm an oath of allegiance to the Crown and make a pledge to uphold UK values and laws.
You will also be presented with a Certificate of Naturalisation and welcome pack.

When government restrictions are in place, we will conduct your citizenship ceremony virtually using Microsoft Teams.
You must be inside the UK to attend a virtual ceremony. If you are outside the UK, we will rearrange your appointment for when you return.
We do not charge any fees if you attend a group ceremony of pre-arranged days.
