Homelessness and young people workshop for students (years 11-13)


Workshop delivered by LEAP focusing on homelessness and young people in Lincoln for years 11-13. This training can be used as evidence towards helping you achieve SMSC.


By the end of the session pupils and staff will have an understanding of:

  • facts about youth homelessness
  • what to do if a young person becomes homeless
  • rights and responsibilities
  • type of accommodation services available for youth people
Service Description

The session will be delivered by senior management from LEAP supported housing.  They have experience working with youth homelessness within an accommodation based setting, the issues experienced by young people who become homeless, and the risks that they may be exposed to:

  • staff are enhanced DBS checked for both adult and child workforce
  • various handouts to support the session
  • interactive sessions

LEAP staff are happy to attend schools within a 10 mile radius of Lincoln:

  • sessions should be a minimum of 1 hour
  • a minimum of one months’ notice is required and will be dependent upon LEAP’s priorities

Free of charge to schools, but it is expected that the school will consider a fund raising event/initiative to help raise essential funds for LEAP
