Lincolnshire County Council owns land around the county which has been used either by the council or rented out for farming. The council is considering the sale of these pockets of land to raise income, and in some cases, to encourage residential development to help meet the need for more housing. Some initial land holdings have now been chosen to be considered for potential sale, including this site.
A community information event was held at Surfleet Village Hall on Thursday 13th July 2017 to look at future use and development of the land.
The South East Lincolnshire Local Plan was adopted without this site included. However there is an intention to progress to an application on the site in the future, but this is unlikely happen within the next 12 months.
