Life at LCC

Our People Strategy

Our People Strategy supports our workforce to be motivated, healthy and values-driven, and is vital to the delivery of our Corporate Plan - the vision and ambitions for Lincolnshire.

This strategy shows how we build on good foundations to create a more progressive and forward-thinking council, that supports our ambition of being an employer of choice.

To achieve these ambitions, we need to make a step change in our culture to foster a working environment that:

  • supports individuals and teams to feel empowered
  • improves services through distributed leadership
  • ensures that everyone owns, understands and embodies the council's vision and values
  • supports an open and compassionate approach to people management
  • supports staff engagement and smarter working
  • facilitates learning and development
  • works in partnership with our stakeholders across Greater Lincolnshire

Our People Strategy sets out how we recruit, retain and develop skilled and talented individuals from inside and outside of Lincolnshire and from diverse backgrounds to deliver quality services.

Over the past decade we have improved our workforce offer by listening and engaging with our employees, stakeholders and trade unions.

Merging the views of our employees and services, it's clear that how we lead, recruit, develop, manage and support our people to thrive will be critical in ensuring we are a progressive and forward-thinking council.

Making it happen

We are clear on our vision, ambitions and aspirations for our workforce. Still, key stakeholders will scrutinise and review the performance of our People Strategy and delivery plan.

We will keep everyone updated on progress across the Council.
