Work experience placements in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire County Council, as a significant employer, is committed to encouraging and promoting good quality work experience placements.

These are specifically aimed at children and young people aged 14 - 19 including care-leavers up to the age of 25.

Our priority for placements will firstly be allocated for Looked after Children.

What are the benefits of work experience?

  • Learn about working life, the skills and attitudes required by employers
  • Raise awareness of areas that you may wish to further develop experience and skills
  • Gain excellent knowledge and insight into a large public sector organisation
  • Build on your skills and knowledge and gain confidence in your chosen area of work
  • Develop team working, self-reliance and flexibility skills
  • Develop vocational skills and improve job opportunities

How long are work experience placements for?

Duration of work experience placements may differ and will be by mutual agreement between the appropriate council service area and your education provider (eg school/college).

How do I apply for a work experience placement?

Any available work experience opportunities will be displayed on this page, along with an expression of interest of form, which must be completed and returned by your education provider. Once your form has been submitted, if the service area is able to offer a placement , contact will be made directly by a member of that team. Due to the expected high number of requests, we cannot guarantee all applications will result in a placement. Therefore if you have not received any correspondence or contact within 6 weeks of submitting a form, please assume we have been unable to offer your student/s placements at this time.

We will not accept applications from individual students or parents.
