On Wednesday 18 April, crews from Boston are aiming to row one metre for every pound required towards the target so that Stefan can receive the treatment he needs. This equals a staggering 250,000 metres!

Firefighter Stefan Hawcroft has been battling against the devastating effects of a brain tumour for the last four years. But after his condition recently deteriorated, his family started a campaign to raise funds to access pioneering treatment which could cost up to £250,000. So far the campaign has raised more than £97,000.

The event will be ta!king place from 10am in Pescod Square in the town.

Dave Gilbert, Divisional Commander, says:

“Crews across the county are pulling together to help Stefan in any way they can and raise the money he needs for his treatment.

“An amazing amount of money has already been raised thanks to events such as this but we can’t stop there when we know more needs to be done to help Stef.

“It’s going to be a tough challenge for the crews so I hope as many people as possible will come along on the day to cheer them on.”
