After a flood: Getting help

Coping with a flood can be distressing. A number of organisations can provide help:


  • If your home has been flooded, call Lincolnshire County Council’s flood line on 01522 782082.
  • Phone your insurance company as soon as possible.
  • If you don’t have insurance, make sure to contact your local council or charities to see if they can help.
  • Take pictures of any damage – they could come in useful later
  • If you are concerned about the risk of infection following the flooding please visit the Public Health England website.
  • If you would like any information about insurance visit the Association of British Insurers Flooding Advice pages.
  • If you would like information about how British Red Cross may be able to help you visit their website.
  • Call your friends and family for support
