Council Services:

Pass Plus for young drivers

The Pass Plus scheme is designed to improve the skill and knowledge of a newly-qualified driver, focusing on specific areas such as driving on motorways, dual carriageways and night driving.

New drivers aged 17-24 can book to attend one of our subsidised programmes if they work, study or live in Lincolnshire. It is most useful to new drivers within a year of passing their test.

Course details

The course costs £50, which is payable by debit or credit card at the time of booking. Cash payments are only accepted by booking at the LRSP offices in Lincoln during normal office hours.

  • Part one is a half-day theory session covering defensive driving and collision avoidance techniques, hazard awareness, road traffic legislation and in car technology.
  • Part two, which is arranged for a later date, is a six-hour practical session with an approved driving instructor. You will not need to use your own vehicle.

Courses are available at the following venues:

  • Lincoln - Witham House, First Floor, The Pelham Centre, Canwick Road, LN5 8HE
  • Sleaford - Committee room 1, Council Offices, Eastgate, Sleaford, NG34 7EB

The course could provide reductions in some insurance premiums but, more importantly, it reduces the risk of young drivers becoming victims in a fatal or serious road collision.

You will receive an official DVSA Pass Plus certificate upon completion.
