If you know a local person or organisation that goes the extra mile – this is your chance to help us celebrate their work at the Good Citizens Awards.

Nominations are now open for our Good Citizens Awards 2022.

We would like to hear about individuals, pairs and groups who make a real difference to their communities through volunteering – so please get in touch with your nominations.

The closing date for entries is Friday 6 May 2022.

Make your nominations

The kind of unpaid work we would like to hear about includes: 

  • making sure neighbours are cared for
  • raising funds for charity
  • organising events
  • supporting good causes 
  • looking after the environment

There are four categories:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year (aged 21 or below)
  • Community Group of the Year
  • Couple/Pair of the Year.

Winners will enjoy a VIP day out at the Lincolnshire Show with a guest, as well as being awarded a framed certificate.

The last year we held the awards was 2019 and the winners were:

  • Citizen of the Year - Rob Turner of Caistor
  • Young Citizen of the Year - Jack Covill-Lowndes from Wainfleet
  • Community Group of the Year - Springline Good Neighbours Scheme
  • Couple/Pair of the Year – Joy and Doug Rodwell from Hemingby near Horncastle

In 2019 we also had a special award for Community Leadership which was won by Andrew and Heather Inkley of Spalding.
