Debut author invites vistors to dive into new novel at The Collection

13 February 2018

Imogen Hermes Gowar will be the latest author to visit The Collection on Friday 9 March to talk about her debut novel, The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock.

The Collection in Lincoln

The event will be taking place in the auditorium of the museum from 7pm, with tickets available from Lindum Books or from The Collection box office, costing £4.

The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock is a spellbinding debut novel of curiosity, love and obsession in Georgian London, inspired by a ‘real’ mermaid in the British Museum (currently on show in the British Library History of Magic exhibition).

Paul Mason, visitor experience manager for The Collection, said:

“It’s really exciting to be welcoming debut novelist, Imogen Hermes Gowar to The Collection to talk about The Mermaid & Mrs Hancock.

“The book is subject to much attention at the moment so we’re extremely lucky that Imogen will be visiting to talk about the novel and its inspiration, as well as giving people the opportunity to find out about more about the story and grab a signed copy!”

Stokes cafe will be open for pre-event refreshments before the event.

To book tickets call the Collection box office on 01522 782040 or visit Lindum Books, at 4 Bailgate, Lincoln.
