Evening Magna Carta lecture at Lincoln Castle

English historian and writer, Professor David Carpenter, will discuss the setting and significance of Magna Carta and the Charter of the Forest in an evening talk on 24 May at Lincoln Castle.

Professor Carpenter is a leading authority on the history of Britain in the central middle ages and author of the translation and commentary of Magna Carta with Penguin Classics. He has been professor of medieval history at King’s College London since 1988.

Stephanie Beecher, events officer, said:

“This is a great coup to be hosting expert historian, Professor David Carpenter. Find out the stories behind the documents during this special evening event and learn more about history where it happened, right here at Lincoln Castle.”

Included within the price of the event ticket is a 45 minute talk; light refreshments, and an exclusive opportunity to view Lincoln’s Magna Carta and Charter of the Forest in the David P J Ross Magna Carta Vault at the Castle.

Places are limited, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Doors open at 7pm, event 7.30pm – 9pm.
