Resurfacing works for A52 / Roman Bank junction in Skegness extended

20 October 2017

Improvements to the A52/Roman Bank junction in town are now expected to come to an end on Wednesday 25 October, subject to reasonable weather conditions.

Resurfacing roadworks

Works planned to complete on 25 October

Final surfacing works at the A52 / A158 / B1451 junction will be extended to include works on Friday 20 October, which will be carried out under temporary traffic signals and a closure to the B1451/Castleton Boulevard from 6pm to midnight.

Final works, including surface course to the B1451/Castleton Boulevard, road marking and reinstalling traffic detection systems, will be carried out on Monday 23 October and Tuesday 24 October under a road closure to the B1451/Castleton Boulevard and temporary traffic signals between 7am and Midnight.

A highways spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, these works haven’t progressed as quickly as we’d hoped; a situation not helped by recent high winds caused by Hurricane Ophelia. As a result, work will carry on into early next week.

“We are also aware that half-term starts at the end of the week, so all works that need to be completed after Thursday evening will be carried out at night under temporary traffic signals to help keep traffic moving through town.

“We intend to do everything we can to minimise the impact these planned improvements might have and ask for your continued patience while they are carried out.”
