Selected Sudbrooke roads to be rebuilt

A number of 40-year-old roads in the village will be given a new lease of life, thanks to upcoming improvements using modern materials and methods


The roads, which are all nearing the end of their life, are to be rebuilt, with work being carried out in two phases.  

The first phase will begin on Monday 5 February and will focus on Holme Drive, Elm Drive, Beech Close and Oak Close. These works are expected to be completed by Saturday 10 February.

This will be followed by a second phase, beginning on Saturday 3 March, affecting Manor Drive, Sibthorpe Drive, Courtfield Close, Chestnut Drive, Chestnut Close, The Paddock, St Edwards Drive and Cedar Close. The second phase is due to be completed by Sunday 18 March.

A series of road closures will in place for the duration of the works and local diversions in place. An indicative timetable is given in the notes to editors, but please be aware that all timings are subject to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.

Cllr Richard Davies, Executive Member for Highways, said: “These roads are going to be rebuilt with better materials and to a better standard – it should make a real difference.

“This is a big job, and inevitably there will be disruption, so we ask residents and motorists for their patience – the end result will be worth the short-term inconvenience.”
