Western Power Distribution works continue in Horncastle

6 October 2017

Work will only take place during the week, with the road returning to normal at weekends.

Horncastle East St

Work to upgrade the electricity network in Horncastle remains on track to be fully complete by December.

The next stage of work starts on Monday 16 October with the laying of cable along the A158 East Street, from the junction with Stanhope Road to the junction with Foundry Street.

To enable the works to be carried out safely, manually controlled stop-go boards will be used to control traffic flow during weekdays, with temporary traffic lights in place overnight. These arrangements will be kept under review, but the works are likely to lead to significant delays during busy periods, and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.

In addition, on Monday 30 October, the county council will be carrying out works at the A158/West Street junction, which will see the permanent lights turned off and replaced with temporary lights for the day.

Work on the A158 should be complete by 3 November.
