Alford Children's Centre

We are a small, well resourced, friendly centre located in the car park of Alford Primary School on Farlesthorpe Road in Alford and have a car park for centre users at the side of the building

Parents and carers, including grandparents, can access a wide range of sessions for 0-5 years from Monday to Friday, including during the school holidays when older siblings up to 8 years are welcome to come along as well. We have an outside play area in which we encourage outdoor play, whatever the weather!

Monday

09:30 - 11:00: Little Explorers (No session 1st & 29th May)

Play and exploration using lots of different messy materials which can be found in the home. This will stimulate your child’s senses and give them an opportunity to discover a range of materials. All of the activities contribute to developing your child’s everyday skills. Don’t forget to bring a set of clean clothes.

13:30 - 15:00: Big Cook Little Cook (No session 1st & 29th May)

A chance to promote healthy lifestyles with your child in a fun way as well as cooking up affordable and nutritious food to share. All food made during the session is taken home (Booking required).

Please note the Centre is closed on Monday 1st & 29th May
Tuesday

09:10 - 13:00: Antenatal Clinic

09:15 - 10:30: Baby and Child Clinic

Please contact centre for more information (Booking required).

09:30 - 10:30: Meet and Greet

Come along and meet Darryl our parent champion who is a parent himself and who is happy to meet you and show you around the centre. Darryl will informally share information about his own positive experiences and offer information, support and guidance to families to help them access the Children’s Centres, childcare, early years education and family services.

14:00 - 15:00: Learning Together Toddlers ( Not on 30th May)

Supports you as parents and carers to get the best out of playing and learning with your child.

13:00 - 15:00: Advisory Board Meeting (23rd May)

Do you want to help influence the centre or voice an opinion? We would really welcome more parents/carers at our partnership meetings. Please ring to let us know that you are coming.

Wednesday

09:15 - 10:45: Little Wishes Stay and Play (Term time only)

Come along and bring your pre-schoolers, chat with other parents and have a cuppa as your children play in our themed weekly sessions. Children are given a drink and a healthy snack and we also run a book swap. Fun and friendly, a free group run by volunteer parents.

13.30 - 15.00: Top Tips for 3 - 4 month olds - 1st Wednesday of the month (3rd May)

A group for parents and carers of children aged 3 - 4 months. Hosted by the Health Team covering issues such as when to start weaning, immunisation advice, accident prevention, minor illness and much more. Booking required Call the centre to book a place 01507 463218

14.00 - 15.00: Family Fun

Family fun is a relaxed friendly group which provides a wide range of activities for families along with support and advice for all parents/carers. Suitable for 0-5 years old (0-8 years old during school holidays). Light refreshments available.

Thursday

9:30 - 10:30: Come and Play (Booking required)

A chance for your child to explore a range of different play activities and experiences. They will learn how to play freely and interact with other children in a different way. You will discover what your child’s interests are and how they learn through play. Booking required please call 01507 463218 to book.

This session has a different theme each week : 4th May Let’s Explore, 11th May Splish Splash Splosh, 18th May Lets Doodle, 25th May Lets Build.
