Belton Children's Centre

Belton Lane Children’s and Community Centre, Belton Lane is attached to Belton Lane Primary School and is one of the two Children’s Centres in Grantham.

Most of the Centre’s activities take place in our out large Family Room. We also have; a training room, a medical room, a sensory room, and crèche room, a small library and a café area. The sensory room is available to book for half hour sessions and the children’s library is available during the Centre’s opening hours.

Monday

09:30 - 14:30: Citizens Advice Bureau held at Guildhall Arts Centre

These sessions can provide advice and information on peoples legal rights while living or working in the UK. Advice areas include welfare benefits, debt and money advice, housing, employment, relationship, consumer and legal. The service is free, confidential, impartial and independent.

10:00 - 10:45 - First Steps

A group for parents who are new to the Children’s Centre. This is a great way to visit the Centre and discover what we do!

10:00 - 12:00 - Grantham Autistic Information Network

A drop in group, every 3rd Monday of the month, for parents and carers of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders. For more information please ring 01400 272165

10:00 - 10:45 - Growing Talk Toddling Tots

Listen to your child’s talking grow as they sing along to their favourite rhymes. They will ride on a magic carpet, sprinkle magic dust and meet Mikey who is our resident puppet. (Term time only).

11:00 - 11:30 - Growing Talk Tiny Tots

Sing to your child and ride on Mikey’s magic carpet.

12:30 - 15:30 - KIDS’ Creche

KIDS is a national charity providing a wide range of services supporting disabled children, young people and their families. The sessions will cater for the individual development needs of each child. Sessions will follow a similar format so that children become familiar with the routine and they will include music and songs, creative, sensory, imaginative and exploratory play activities. Tuesday

09:30 - 11:30 - Individual Need Session

A chance for parents to come along and get their children weighed and to discuss any concerns they may have. Run by a health visitor and nursery nurse. Contact the Grantham Health Clinic on 01476 590805 to book. (Booking required).

09:30 - 11:00 - Toddlers Learning Together

Sessions are fun and include talk time, stories, songs and play activities. This activity supports you as parents’ and carers to get the best out of playing and learning with your child.

10:00 - 11:00 - Come and Play

A chance for you and your child to play together and discover a range a different play activities which promote independence, confidence and social skills.

13:00 - 14:00 - Babies Learning Together

Sessions are fun and include talk time, stories, songs and play activities. This activity supports you as parents’ and carers to get the best out of playing and learning with your child.

12:00 - 17:30 - Dyslexia Action

Literacy support for 7 - 16 yrs. Charges apply. Contact 01522 539 267 to book your place. (Booking required).

Wednesday 

09:15 - 11:15 - Childminder Group

A support group for Childminders and the children they mind.

09:30 - 11:30 - Conversational English

Would you like to learn the skills to be able to hold a better conversation in English? If so, why not join up to our informal Conversational English course. For more information, please contact the Children’s Centre 01476 584640

10:00 - 10:45 - Baby Bumpkin (Fee applies)

11:00 - 13:00: - West Lincolnshire Domestic Abuse service (WLDAS)

Support for families to live a life free from violence, improving safety, emotional and economic wellbeing, health, education and enjoyment of life; improving long term outcomes for adults, children and young people.

13:00 - 14:00 - Little Explorers

Play and exploration using lots of different materials which can be found in the home. This will stimulate your child’s senses and give them an opportunity to discover and explore. All of the activities contribute to developing your child’s everyday skills. Don’t forget to bring a set of clean clothes just in case it gets messy!

Thursday

09:30 - 11:00 - Families Learning Together 0 - 5 years

Sessions are fun and include talk time, stories, songs and play activities. This activity supports you as parents’ and carers to get the best out of playing and learning with your child.

13:00 - 14:00 - Rhyme Time - Up to 2 years

Using rhyme and song to promote early communication, in a fun and interactive session which sometimes includes puppets and props.

Friday 

09:30 - 11:00 - International Toddler Group

A warm, friendly and relaxed toddler group run by parents for families where English is their second language.

10:00 - 12:00: Funky Feet Health Walk

Meeting at Belton Lane Children’s and Community Centre every Friday morning, this group is for adults and children of all ages to go on a health walk. Get fitter, healthier and happier. Come along for a health walk and meet new friends. No need for childcare - bring your kids and buggies.

12:00 - 13:30 - Home Birth Group - 28th April

To give women and their families considering a home birth or who have had a home birth a chance to share stories and experiences. A local midwife will be available at each session.

13:30 - 15:30: Breastfeeding Support Group

A Health Visitor will be on hand if you would like professional advice and support.
