Belton Children's Centre

Belton Lane Children’s and Community Centre, Belton Lane is attached to Belton Lane Primary School and is one of the two Children’s Centres in Grantham.

Most of the Centre’s activities take place in our out large Family Room. We also have; a training room, a medical room, a sensory room, and crèche room, a small library and a café area. The sensory room is available to book for half hour sessions and the children’s library is available during the Centre’s opening hours.

Monday

10:00 - 11:00 - Early Explorers (children under 1 year)

A sensory and messy play session providing lots of fun filled opportunities each week for babies to explore using their senses giving them an opportunity to learn and exoplore supporting their early development.

12:30 - 15:30 - KIDS' Creche

KIDS is a national charity providing a wide range of services supporting disabled children, young people and their families. The sessions will cater for the individual development needs of each child. Sessions will follow a similar format so that children become familiar with the routine and they will include music and songs, creative, sensory, imaginative and exploratory play activities. 13:00 - 14:30 - Big Cook Little Cook (2 1/2 - 5 years)

Children and parents can work together to prepare, and cook a nutritious dish. As well as promoting a healthly lifestyle, children will enjoy cooking alongside their parent/carer whilst developing their motor skills. Book on - Please contact the Children's Centre for more information and bookings.

11:00 - 12:00 - Learning Through Play (0 - 5 years)

This drop in session provides an opportunity for parents, carers and children to discover and explore a wide range of play ctivities together, encourging children independence, confidence and social skills.

13:30 - 14:30 - Learning Together Babies (Up to walking)

Learning Together Babies offers a variety of activities including messy play, talk time and songs & stories to support babies' early development, by building their confidence as they learn to explore.

09:15 - 11:15 - Childminders Group

For childminders and the children they care for.

10:00 - 10:45 - Yellow Flamingo (6 weeks - walking)

Yoga inspored classes to aid creativity and development in your child. Your child will learn different yoga positions and actively explore magical and musical adventures within an educational framework. 12:30 - 13:30 - Bumps to Babies

This relaxed & friendly session supports both pregnant mums and new parents. The session focuses on the needs and requests of the families attending. There are lots of resources such as treasure baskets, cosy areas and sensory materials which will allow new babies to develop their curiosity in a safe and secure environment.

14:00 - 14:45 - Rhyme Time (0 - 5 years)

A song and rhyme session focusing on supporting children's early communication skills. During the session children will have the opportunity to sing along to their favourite songs and rhymes using a variety of props and resources.

10:00 - 12:00 - Breastfeeding Support Group

For expectant and breastfeeding mums with babies.

10:00 - 10:45 - Movers and Shakers (0 - 5 years)

Movers and Shakers is a fun music and movement session which supports and develops children's communication and physical skills. The session includes using musical instruments and singing to support early language development and physical activities such as scarves, bubbles, balls and parachute games to develop co-ordination and physical awareness.

13:00 - 14:00 - Little Explorers (0 - 5 years)

A sensory and messy play session providing materials of differing textures, temperatures and consistencies for children to explore, supporting their development and growing confidence.

14:30 - 15:30 - Keepsakes

This is an invitation only session to introduce new families to the Children's Centre. The session will run over 6 weeks and will offer the families an opportunity to make a variety of 'keepsake' items with their children such as hand and foot prints or learning journeys which can be taken home.

09:30 - 11:00 - International Toddler Group (0 - 5 years)

A warm, friendly and relaxed toddler group run by parents for families where English is their second language.

12:00 - 13:30 - Home Birth Group

Last Friday of every month.
To give women and their families considering a home birth or who have had a home birth a chance to share stories and experiences. A local midwife will be available at each session.

14:00 - 15:00 - Terrific Two's

An invitation only session for families eligible to apply for the Two Year Old Early Years Entitlement (2YO EYE). The session will be able to explain to families what the 2YO EYE is and how it can benefit their child. During the session there will be a variety of activities for children to explore alongside their parent/carer.
