Birchwood Children's Centre

Located in the heart of Birchwood, we are in between Birchwood Leisure Centre and Kingdom Hall we have a variety of activities going on, ranging from Early Years sessions to Parent Groups.

We have two outside gardens with a sand pit, elephant slide, climbing net. We also have a sensory room with a Bubble Tube, Ball Pool, fibre optic lights and fun treasure baskets to explore. The Sensory room can be booked out free of charge for you to use as a family unit.

The Centre activities are aimed at Under 5’s, however we offer a additional activities during holiday periods open to families with children up to 13. We welcome mums, dads, grandparents, carers and older siblings

We have training courses from accredited courses like first aid and food hygiene to the softer courses such as pampering sessions and grow your own and much more!

Monday

09:30 - 11:30: ABC Parent Group (13th March)

Parent forum, everyone welcome.

13:30 - 14:30: Little Explorers

Play and exploration using lots of different messy materials which can be found in the home. This will stimulate your child’s senses and give them an opportunity to discover a range of materials. All of the activities contribute to developing your child’s everyday skills. Don’t forget to bring a set of clean clothes!

Tuesday

09:30 - 10:30: Babies Learning Together

To support you as parents’ and carers to get the best out of playing and learning with your child. Age birth to 1 year.

09:30 - 10:30: Carers Connect (7th March)

Drop In. Free support for all unpaid carers

11:00 - 12:00: Tweenies Learning Together

To support you as parents’ and carers to get the best out of playing and learning with your child. Age 8 months to walking.

13:30 - 14:45: Toddlers Learning Together

To support you as parents’ and carers to get the best out of playing and learning with your child. Age 8 months to walking. Age 1 - 3 years.

Wednesday

09:15 - 12:15: KIDS Creche

For children with additional needs and their families, which includes a supportive parent’s hour. After this, parents can then leave their child for 2 hours for some respite

13:30 - 14:45: Come and Play

A chance for your child to explore a range of different play activities and experiences. They will learn how to play freely and interact with other children in a different way. You will discover what your child’s interests are and how they learn through play.

Thursday

12:00 - 14:00: BreastStart

Support group for breastfeeding mothers.

13:00 - 13:45: Babies Rhyme Time held at Birchwood Library

Using rhythm, song and rhyme to promote early communication in a fun and interactive session.

14:00 - 14:45: Toddlers Rhyme Time held at Birchwood Library

Using rhythm, song and rhyme to promote early communication in a fun and interactive session.

Friday

09:30 - 11:30: Busy Bees Stay and Play

Stay & Play session

12:30 - 15:00: Lincoln Twinkles (17th March)
