Gainsborough Market Arcade Children's Centre

The centre is located next to the bus station and although there is no specific parking allocation for the building but there are many local pay and display car parks and some on-street parking which is free for up to two hours.

The centre has a small, secure, well equipped outdoor area which has recently been refurbished together with a range of raised beds for getting children involved in ‘grow your own’ activities. Inside there are a number of rooms which are utilised for the varying sessions including a sensory room that can be booked by session leaders and registered users alike.

Monday

09:30 - 11:00 ACE Group

Volunteer led group for all ages offering lots of activities and experiences.

10:00 - 11:00 Baby Learning Together

Learning together babies offers a variety of activities including messy play, talk time and songs Learning together toddler offers a variety of activities including messy play, talk time and songs and stories to support children’s development, by building their confidence as they learn to explore.This group is for babies not yet walking.

13:30 - 14:30 Little Explorers

A sensory and messy play session providing Materials of differing textures, temperatures and consistencies for children to explore, supporting their development and growing confidence. This group is for 0 -5 year olds.

Tuesday


13:30 - 15:00 Breaststart Breast Feeding Group

Drop-in support session for breastfeeding and expectant parents. Relaxed environment, a chance to have some refreshments and receive quality advice from our trained peer supporters. This session is run in partnership with the Health Visiting Team.

14:00 - 14:45 Rhyme Time

A song and rhyme time session focusing on supporting children’s early communication skills. During the session children will have the opportunity to sing along to their favourite songs and rhymes using a variety of props and resources.

Wednesday

09:30 - 10:30 Learning Together Toddler

Learning together toddler offers a variety of activities including messy play, talk time and songs and stories to support children’s development, by building their confidence as they learn to explore. 1-3 years.

11:00 - 12:00 Learning Together Baby

Learning together babies offers a variety of activities including messy play, talk time and songs and stories to support babies’ early development, by building their confidence as they learn to explore.

13:30 - 15:30 Antenatal

Booking required
Four weekly sessions with other parents and one post-natal reunion. Sessions will include; Getting to know your baby and becoming a parent; Preparation for labour and birth; Caring for baby in the early days; Feeding your baby and baby’s first language. Suitable for women 28 weeks pregnant and beyond.Please call the Children’s Centre or email Cara Tysoe/ Emily Turner to see which session and start date is most suitable for your family.

13:30 - 14:30 Bumps to Babies

Invitation Only
A session for pregnant and new parents, and their babies. This relaxed friendly session support both pregnant mums and new parents, the session focuses on the needs and requests of the families attending. There are lots of resources such as Treasure Baskets, cosy areas and sensory materials which will allow new babies to develop individual curiosity in a safe, secure environment.

09:30 - 11:30 Childminders Group

Term time only
The drop-in aims to provide a relaxed and welcoming environment for Childminders and their minded children. Childminders must be Ofsted registered.

10:00 - 11:00 Early Explorers

A sensory and messy play session providing Materials of differing textures, temperatures and consistencies for children to explore, supporting their development and growing confidence. This is a 0 -1 years.

13:30 - 14:30 Keepsakes

Invitation Only
This is an invitation only session to introduce new families to the children’s centre the session will run over 6 weeks. The group will offer an opportunity for families to make a variety of ‘keepsake’ items with their children such as hand and foot prints and learning journeys which can be taken home.

09:30 - 10:15 Growing Talk Toddling Tots

Age: Toddling - 5 years old
Growing talk is a music and rhyme session focusing on developing children growing language skills, children will be able to sing along to their favourite songs and rhymes in this fun music session.

10:45 - 11:15 Growing Talk Tiny Tots

Age: 0 - Toddling
Growing talk is a music and rhyme session focusing on developing children growing language skills, children will be able to sing along to their favourite songs and rhymes in this fun music session.

13:30 - 14:30 Learning Through Play

This drop in session provides a variety of activities for children to explore supporting children’s changing needs and interests, the session offers an opportunity for parents, carers and children to discover and explore a wide range of play activities together, encouraging children’s independence, confidence and social skills.

Saturday

10:00 - 11:30 Weekend Fun

At Gainsborough North Marsh Children’s Centre
A fun session for the whole family to come and enjoy, a variety of activities will be on offer such as messy play, gardening and cooking. A light brunch is included, prepared by the families who attend, promoting healthy lifestyles in a fun way with the whole family.
