Lincoln North Children's Centre

Lincoln North is situated on Welbourn Gardens off Sudbrooke Drive in Ermine East. The Sudbrooke Drive play area is in front of the entrance.

There is a car park with disabled spaces. There is disabled access into the centre and a disabled toilet. There is a wide variety of Early Years sessions and parenting groups including support groups for children with special needs or disabilities.

There is an outdoor play area with a sandpit, a music corner, a playhouse, a slide and a caterpillar tunnel along with activity and play rooms and a meeting room with a projector and whiteboard. Parents and carers can borrow storysacks (books and story themed toys) from the centre to help aid their child’s development at home. A sensory room is available for hire free of charge and has a bubble tube, ball pool, fibre optic lights and treasure baskets to explore.

The centre activities are aimed at under 5’s, however during half term and school holidays sessions are open to children aged 0 to 8 years. We welcome mums, dads, grandparents, carers and older siblings.

Monday

10:00 - 10:45 Rhyme Time

A song and rhyme session focusing on supporting children’s early communication skills. During the session children will have the opportunity to sing along to their favourite songs and rhymes using a variety of props and resources. 0-5 years.

13:00 - 15:00 Antenatal Top Tips

A four week programme delivered in partnership with midwifery and health Visitors, for expectant parents (from 26 weeks). Sessions cover a variety of topics including labour and birth. To book please contact the Children’s Centre or your midwife.

Tuesday

09:30 - 10:30 Little Explorers

A sensory and messy play session providing Materials of differing textures, temperatures and consistencies for children to explore, supporting their development and growing confidence. 0-5 years.

13:30 - 14:30 Imps In The Community

Lincoln City Football Club will be running active play sessions at Lincoln North Children’s Centre for under 5s. There will be lots of fun sporty multi-skill activities for little ones to enjoy and burn off some energy. No need to book, just come along on the day, and it’s free! 0-5 years

13:30 - 14:30 Bumps to Babies

A session for pregnant mum’s and new parents, and their babies. These relaxed friendly sessions support both pregnant mums and new parents, the session focuses on the needs and requests of the families attending. There are lots of resources such as Treasure Baskets, cosy areas and sensory materials which will allow new babies to develop individual curiosity in a safe, secure environment. Invitation Only.

Wednesday

10:00 - 10:45 Rhyme Time

13:00 - 14:00 Top Tips at 3-4 months

10th January
Sessions provided by Family Health Workers offering weaning advice through to accident prevention and illnesses. Please contact the children’s centre to book onto this session. Children up to 8months old are welcome. Booking is required.

13:30 - 14:30 Keepsakes

This is an invitation only session to introduce new families to the children’s centre. The session will run over 6 weeks. The group will offer an opportunity for families to make a variety of ‘keepsake’ items with their children such as hand and foot prints and learning journeys which can be taken home.

Thursday

10:00 - 11:00 Learning Through Play

This drop in session provides a variety of activities for children to explore supporting children’s changing needs and interests, the session offers an opportunity for parents, carers and children to discover and explore a wide range of play activities together, encouraging children’s independence, confidence and social skills. 0-5 years.

13:30 - 14:30 Learning Together Babies

Learning together offers a variety of activities including messy play, talk time and songs and stories to support children’s development, by building their confidence as they learn to explore. For babies not yet walking.

Friday

09:30 - 10:30 Learning Through Play

This drop in session provides a variety of activities for children to explore supporting children’s changing needs and interests, the session offers an opportunity for parents, carers and children to discover and explore a wide range of play activities together, encouraging children’s independence, confidence and social skills. 0-5 years.

13:30 - 14:30 Quiet Time

Quiet Time sessions are a time within the centre where families new to the Children’s Centre are offered opportunities to use Children’s Centre resources on a more one to one, or small group basis. Invitation only.
