Louth Children's Centre

We are a friendly, well-resourced centre attached to Eastfield Infant School located within Lacey Gardens in Louth.

We have a limited amount of car park spaces for centre users which is located off Monks Dyke Road. The school has requested that parents/carers do not park within the school grounds.

Parents/Carers including Grandparents can access a wide range of sessions for children aged 0-5yrs. Older siblings up to 8yrs are also welcome to come along during the holidays to enjoy the activities we have on offer. We have a secure outside play area in which we encourage outdoor play, whatever the weather!

Monday

10:30 - 11:00 Storytime

Held at Louth Library
Come and join us for rhymes and story time with your under 5’s.

14:00 - 15:00 Rhyme Time

A song and rhyme session focusing on supporting children’s early communication skills. During the session children will have the opportunity to sing along to their favourite songs and rhymes using a variety of props and resources.

Tuesday

09:30 - 10:30 Little Explorers

A sensory and messy play session providing Materials of differing textures, temperatures and consistencies for children to explore, supporting their development and growing confidence.This session is for Children up to 5 years, but includes siblings up to 8 years in the School Holidays. Please dress appropriately and bring spare clothes as it could get messy!

13:00 - 14:30 Big Cook Little Cook

Children and parents can work together to prepare, and cook a nutritious meal. As well as promoting a healthy lifestyle, children will enjoy cooking alongside their parent /carer while developing their motor skills. For children 18 months - 5 years.

Are you pregnant and looking for down to earth and practical advice about bonding and breastfeeding in the early days? Why not come along to our FREE workshop, run bi-monthly, by Angelique Fox, trained breastfeeding volunteer and experienced mum of five. There is no need to book. Partners and family are welcome too.

A scheme to co-ordinate the care for children & young people from Birth to 18 years of age who have complex health needs, sensory needs and/or disabilities. Appointments required. Please call 01522 782111 to make an appointment.

Wednesday 

9:15- 10:15 Top Tips for 3- 4 month olds

7th February | Held on first Wednesday of the month | Booking required
This session is age specific and will cover subjects such as when to start solids, oral health, healthy eating, accident prevention, potty training, immunisations, minor illnesses and how to access support. For parents attending this groupvthere will be an opportunity to self-weigh your baby using the scales provided.

09:30 - 13:00 Health Visitor Assessment Clinic for 0 - 5 year olds

This includes 6-8 week Assessment, 3-4 month contact, 8-12 month Assessment, 2 - 21/2 year Assessment, Individual Offer (where a specific health need is identified) Appointment only. Call 01522 308800. After 18th February call 01522 843000.

10:30 - 12:30 Breaststart Group

Come and join us in a relaxed friendly environment to chat, get help, support and advice from Angelique our trained breastfeeding support volunteer and other breastfeeding mums. We welcome all breastfeeders whether you are sucessfully breastfeeding or experiencing problems. For parents attending this group there will be an opportunity to self-weigh your baby using the scales provided.

13:00 - 14:00 Learning Together Babies

Booking required
Suitable for babies not yet walking. Learning together babies offers a variety of activities including messy play, talk time and songs and stories to support babies’ early development, by building their confidence as they learn to explore.

13:30 - 14:30 Movers and Shakers

Held at Meridan Centre, Louth
Movers and shakers is a fun music and movement session which supports and develops children’s communication and physical skills. The session includes using musical instruments and singing to support early language development and physical activities such as scarves, bubbles, balls and parachute games to develop co-ordination and physical awareness. 0-5 years.

Thursday 

10:00 - 11:00 Learning Together Toddlers

Booking required
Learning together toddler offers a variety of activities including messy play, talk time and songs and stories to support children’s development, by building their confidence as they learn to explore.

11:30 - 13:30 Kids Creche

Providing crèche facilities for disabled children and those with complex health needs aged 0-5 years. To bring children and families together to offer emotional and practical support. Sessions include music, songs and exploratory and messy play activities. Initial booking required - call 07793 777301.

14:00 15:15 Colic and Cake Clinic

22nd February
Colic and Cake Clinic FEES APPLY. An informal meet up for new and expectant parents to come along and meet and get information on classes. A short routine including massage and yoga technique will be included to give you a helping start dealing with common issues such as colic/reflux. A small cost of £4 per family for this session. Listen to your childs talk grow as they sing along to their favourite rhymes. They will ride on the magic carpet , sprinkle magic dust and meet Mykey who is our resident puppet. This is a rolling programme which runs in term time only. Initial booking required. Call the centre to enquire.

11: 30 - 12: 30 Keepsakes

Invitation only
This is an invitation only session to introduce new families to the children’s centre the session will run over 6 weeks.The group will offer an opportunity for families to make a variety of ‘keepsake’ items with their children such as hand and foot prints and learning journeys which can be taken home.

13:30 - 14:30 Terrific Twos

Invitation only
Invitation only session for families eligible to apply for the Two Year Old Early Years Entitlement (2YO EYE). The session will be to explain to families what the 2YO EYE is and how it can benefit their child. During the session there will be a variety of activities for children to explore alongside their parent/carer.

Saturday 3rd February - Lets go Shopping | Saturday 10th February - Hearts and Flowers | Saturday 17th February - Chinese New Year | Saturday 24th February - The Very Hungry Caterpillar

A fun session for the whole family to come and enjoy. There will be a variety of activities such as messy play, gardening and cooking. Brunch ingredients will be provided and prepared by the families attending the session, promoting healthy lifestyles in a fun way. Suitable for ages 0 - 5 years and siblings up to age 8.
