Witham St Hughs Children's Centre

We offer something for all ages, from expectant parents, babies and toddlers, right up to when little ones start school. We also hold free adult learning courses, each designed to provide additional skills and support for parents/carers, across a wide range of subjects.

Monday 

10:00 - 10:45 Rhyme Time

12th February
A song and rhyme session focusing on supporting children’s early communication skills. During the session children will have the opportunity to sing along to their favourite songs and rhymes using a variety of props and resources.

10:00 - 10:30 Growing Talk- Baby

Term Time Only
Listen to your child’s talking grow as they sing along to their favourite rhymes. They will ride on a magic carpet, sprinkle magic dust and meet Mikey who is our resident puppet. Age: up to crawling or walking.

10:45 - 11:30 Growing Talk- Toddlers

Term Time Only
Listen to your child’s talking grow as they sing along to their favourite rhymes. They will ride on a magic carpet, sprinkle magic dust and meet Mikey who is our resident puppet.

For children who are under one, or not yet walking this drop-in play and learning session offers a variety of activities that are based upon the likes and interests of the children attending. Giving the children attending the opportunity to develop their growing skills while having lots of fun. Under 1 year olds. .

Wednesday

10:00 - 11:00 Learning Together Toddlers

Learning together toddler offers a variety of activities including messy play, talk time and songs and stories to support children’s development, by building their confidence as they learn to explore. From walking updwards.

10:00 - 11:00 Baby Massage

13:00 - 14:00: Early Explorers

A sensory and messy play session providing lots of fun filled opportunities each week for babies to explore using their senses giving them an opportunity to learn and explore supporting their early development. Children under 1 or not yet walking.

Group of childminders and their children to have some fun and share ideas and good practice (Term time only)

10:00 - 11:00 Top Tips 3-4 Months

13:00 - 14:00 Little Explorers

A sensory and messy play session providing Materials of differing textures, temperatures and consistencies for children to explore, supporting their development and growing confidence. 0-5 years.

14:30 - 15:30 Autism Meeting

1st February
First Thursday of the month. For more information contact the centre.

Friday

09:30 - 10:30 Learning Through Play

This drop in session provides a variety of activities for children to explore supporting children’s changing needs and interests, the session offers an opportunity for parents, carers and children to discover and explore a wide range of play activities together, encouraging children’s independence, confidence and social skills. 0-5 years.

11:30 - 12:30 Keepsakes

This is an invitation only session to introduce new families to the children’s centre the session will run over 6 weeks. The group will offer an opportunity for families to make a variety of ‘keepsake’ items with their children such as hand and foot prints and learning journeys which can be taken home.

13:15 - 14:15 Learning Together Babies

Learning together babies offers a variety of activities including messy play, talk time and songs and stories to support babies’ early development, by building their confidence as they learn to explore. For babies not yet walking.
